(Okay, I'll do my best!!!)
With nearly frozen-to-the-bone feet, Jakaro continued to walk through the snow. She looked to each of her side. Nothing but empty, wooden house frames that once held in a warm place to call home. She rubbed off the dry tears on her face.
"Be brave, or don't survive." Jakaro whispered to herself, "That's what teacher always taught you."
But her teacher wasn't there. No-one was. She was all by herself and was afraid of the world around her, not even wanting to know about it. Jakaro always depended on other people up until this point. There was no one to lean or rely on now.
Jakaro flinched as she heard a loud crack of wood and her head snapped in the direction it came from. There, she saw a house with a slightly open roof. But at leased it had one, along with four walls. That was good enough for Jakaro.
As she entered, she observed how empty and dark it was. She held back the tears that welled up in her eyes.
"I should be happy." she said to herself. "I found someplace I can stay." Jakaro dusted off an old oil lamp that she found in a corner of the house before turning the knob on it and watching the flame dance. It was warm. Happiness welled up inside of Jakaro as her body absorbed the heat. She set the oil lamp on the floor-board and watched the shadows move around on the walls. Jakaro curled up next to the lamp before slowly closing her eyes. She quietly muttered, "Be brave....or...don't survive..." before drifting off into a sleepless dream.
